Flashback to 2015, Beef Shorthorn leads the Celebration of British Livestock

The Beef Shorthorn Society will be showcasing the breed in London on Thursday 8 December by leading ‘A Celebration of British Livestock at Christmas’ through the city streets.

Two Beef Shorthorn heifers escorted by a mounted troop of the Light Cavalry Honourable Artillery Company will be completing a half mile march from St Paul’s Cathedral along Fleet Street to St Brides Church where a farmyard gathering of sheep and chickens will be waiting and a seasonal celebration attended by an anticipated 200 farmers from throughout the UK.

Lunch will follow featuring Beef Shorthorn beef and local produce.

Beef Shorthorn Society chief executive, Milly Fyfe commented: “We were pleased to have the opportunity to support this celebration of British livestock with two heifers for the second consecutive year. We are looking forward to our Beef Shorthorn raising the breed’s profile and providing an impromptu spectacle to thousands of people in the city.”

Event organiser, Shepherd Publishing has chosen to donate proceeds from the event to London City Farms.
